In episode 6 of the 5by5 podcast Geek Friday, Faith mentioned that people love the intro sound, and even used it as their ringtone.

I love it too and thought that was a great idea, but I had to re-google how to convert an mp3 into a ringtone. The whole thing took more than 2 seconds, so.. if you’re too busy, here you go:

It starts with a bit of static, so I used time index 0:04 – 0:34 of the original Crookshanks mp3.

On Friday, 12 August 2011, My wife gave birth to our second child, a healthy baby girl, Marla June Benjamin. Everybody is doing great.

I’ll be taking a couple of weeks off and while I’m out, my friend, fellow podcaster Ryan Irelan will be standing in for me as co-host for all of my shows. Although they won’t stream live, they’ll all still be released over the course of the week.

As of Wednesday, 9 March 2011, all of the latest batch of T-Shirts have shipped, and are winging their way to you.

Depending on where you live, US delivery can take anywhere from 2 to 5 days, which means your shirt should arrive between Friday, March 11th and Monday, March 14th. If you’re outside of the US, shipping times vary from about 10 days to 3 weeks.

The new year brings a lot of new things. Not only will 5by5 have new shows, but we also added new features to the website as well.

Upcoming Episodes

On the home page, you will find “Upcoming Episodes” underneath the “Broadcasts” section. There you will find a list of the upcoming episodes for all the shows with information about the guest (if there is one), date, and time (EST).

Questions and Comments

If you click on the episode under “Upcoming Episodes”, you can find a new section called “Share Your Questions And Comments”. You can write comments and questions for the guest if you can’t make it to the live recording. [Please note that the Pipeline episodes are pre-recorded so the date is actually when it will be posted.]

No need to use the JustinTV app anymore. You can now easily listen to 5by5 stream on your iPhone and iPad by going to 5by5.fm.

If you didn’t already know, 5by5 now has its first daily show, The Daily Edition, with your favorite host, Dan Benjamin. On Dan’s new show, he gives you a bit of everything: news, talk, and discussion. Unlike the other shows, The Daily Edition allows for a discussion with the audience via telephone.

So what time is the live show? It’ll be on weekdays at 10am ET. If you’re not around your computer during the live taping, you can also listen to it on your iPhone or iPad by going to http://5by5.fm. The show will be recorded and posted on the 5by5 website.
